Breast Feeding Information
We received the following information:
If you have WIC you can get a breast pump for free from your local WIC office. Below are the phone numbers for the clinics in Newport News and Hampton and the names of the breastfeeding coordinators for those clinics. The breastfeeding coordinators are the ones that handle pump distribution. If she does not qualify for WIC, there is the La Leche League. Their number is 1-800-La Leche. They have an automated system for locating a local group as well as someone that can answer breastfeeding questions during business hours. Another resource if all else fails is the Keim Centers. They are on the Southside, but they offer parenting classes and help to moms regardless of income. I know the one in Portsmouth has some breastpumps available. Their services are free. They are on the web at www.keimcenters.com.
